Meet Callie

Root-Cause Focused Pelvic Health Therapy Through a Whole-Body Lens

Callaway “Callie” Kennedy Quinn, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist and Pelvic Health Therapist at Tonic & Phasic Holistic Pelvic Health. Her approach to care is centered around understanding the “why” behind her patients’ symptoms and helping people feel more connected, confident, and supported throughout their healing journey.

“You cannot treat one body part without considering the whole human.”

Callie’s background in pediatrics taught her one of the most foundational lessons she carries into her work today: you cannot treat a single body part without considering the whole person. In pediatric therapy, she learned to look beneath the surface of symptoms and behaviors to understand the neurological and functional root behind them.

That philosophy continues to shape the way she practices pelvic health today.

Whether someone is experiencing pelvic pain, postpartum dysfunction, upper extremity pain, or challenges with daily activities, Callie approaches each patient by looking at the full picture rather than focusing only on symptoms. She believes healing begins when we stop chasing symptoms and start understanding the body as a connected system.

“I love being the person who finally listens, connects the dots, and says — here is the why behind what you’re feeling.”

Education & Clinical Background

Callie completed her undergraduate education at Chapman University before earning her Occupational Therapy degree from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Her clinical background includes:

  • Pediatric therapy

  • NICU and sensory-based care

  • Adult neurological rehabilitation

  • Hand and upper extremity therapy

  • Prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation

  • Pelvic health therapy

These experiences shaped her passion for understanding how movement, sensory systems, environment, posture, and daily tasks all influence healing and quality of life.

Callie’s Journey into Pelvic Health

Callie’s transition into pelvic health was a natural evolution driven by her commitment to finding the root cause behind her patients’ symptoms. While working with prenatal and postpartum patients experiencing wrist and hand pain, she realized many of the symptoms were connected to deeper shifts happening within the core, posture, and pelvic floor.

“I realized that focusing only on the wrist was ignoring the foundational shifts happening in their pelvic floor and core.”

This sparked what she describes as a “radical curiosity” to look deeper and better understand the body as a whole — ultimately leading her into specialized pelvic health therapy.

Working With Callie

Collaborative & Patient-Led Care

Working with Callie means looking at the whole picture, not just the symptoms. Patients can expect a warm, judgment-free environment where sessions feel collaborative, educational, and individualized to their goals and lifestyle.

“We investigate the root causes of your discomfort one layer at a time.”

She believes patients should feel fully supported and empowered throughout their care, while always maintaining autonomy over their healing journey.

Functional Support for Everyday Life

As an occupational therapist, Callie loves helping patients find immediate solutions to difficult daily tasks. Her sessions often include practical education and strategies to improve comfort, confidence, and independence in everyday life.

Treatment may include:

  • Ergonomic and workstation modifications

  • Safe lifting techniques

  • Breastfeeding and postpartum positioning support

  • Adaptive equipment education

  • Exercise prescription

  • Strength training

  • Task modifications for cooking, dressing, and bathing

  • Sensory processing and regulation support

“I believe in the healing powers of movement and strength training.”

Sensory Processing & Regulation

Through her extensive background working in NICU, outpatient, and school-based settings, Callie developed a strong understanding of sensory processing and regulation. She incorporates this lens into care to help patients better understand how their sensory systems may influence stress, body awareness, focus, and daily function.

“Our sensory regulation can impact our fight-or-flight response and our overall ability to function in daily life.”

Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, Callie loves staying active through pilates, yoga, and beach volleyball. She enjoys cooking meals at home with her husband and spending time with family and friends.

The values that guide both her life and clinical practice are active presence and gratitude.

A Note to New Patients

Starting pelvic floor therapy can feel vulnerable or unfamiliar, and Callie deeply values creating an environment where patients feel safe, heard, and supported. Feeling unsure is a natural part of the journey. Her goal is to help each person better understand their body, feel empowered in their care, and know they do not have to navigate healing alone.

“Healing starts by listening to your body — together.”
